Flathead Valley Land & Water Conservation Organizations
FireSafe Montana
Through a collaborate effort of Montanans from diverse backgrounds, FireSafe’s reason for being is to create local FireSafe Councils. These councils educate citizens and provide them with resources on how to mitigate potential loss of life and property from wildfire.
Flathead Conservation District
Works with Flathead Valley groups, landowners, and schools through programs aimed at conserving soil, water, and other natural resources.
Flathead Lakers
Represents a diverse group of communities around Flathead Lake with the mission of providing leadership and a strong voice for protecting and improving Flathead Lake’s water quality.
Flathead Land Trust
Strives to preserve the beautiful tapestry of the Flathead’s lakes, rivers, farms, and forests for future generations.
Flathead River to Lake Initiative
A collaborative effort of landowners along the shores of Flathead River and Flathead Lake to preserve 11,000 acres of critical wetlands, riparian areas, fish and wildlife habitat, and farm land.
Whitefish Lake Institute
Committed to science, education, and community stewardship of Whitefish Lake by conducting scientific research, engaging in community stewardship, and offering educational programs.
